Terms of Service

The Kitchen Story helps you save recipes from photos, track a pantry, and get AI-generated suggestions (nutrition estimates, ingredient substitutes, wine pairings). It's provided as-is, and features may change, break, or be removed as the app develops — this is an actively evolving product, not a finished, guaranteed service.

You sign in with a Google account. You're responsible for keeping that account secure — we don't have a separate password to worry about, but if your Google account is compromised, so is your access here.

You keep ownership of everything you upload — recipe photos, receipts, notes, and anything else. By uploading it, you give us permission to store and process it for the purpose of running the app (including sending it to Anthropic's Claude API for AI extraction, as described in the Privacy Policy).

You're responsible for having the right to upload whatever you upload — e.g. a photo of a recipe card you own or a cookbook page for your own personal use.

Nutrition estimates, ingredient substitutions, wine pairing suggestions, and recipe extraction are all generated or assisted by AI, and are best-effort estimates — not verified, lab-tested, or professional dietary, medical or nutritional advice. If nutrition figures matter for a health condition (an allergy, a medical diet), verify them independently rather than relying on the app's estimate.

Don't use the app to upload or generate illegal content, or to abuse the service (e.g. deliberately overloading the AI extraction pipeline).

The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be available, error-free, or that AI-generated suggestions will be accurate.

To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app — including loss resulting from relying on an AI-generated suggestion.

You can stop using the app at any time. To have your account and data deleted, see the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service.

These terms may change as the app develops; the date at the top of this page reflects the latest version.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
